You are the most important person in your home.
Your thoughts and feelings count and matter. Only you get to say what is best for you and your children.
We often get confused by other voices telling what we should believe, what we should do. It becomes hard to trust own inner knowledge and strength. Many parents feel overwhelmed with all of the responsibilities they have so they give up, give in and feel miserable.
What can you do about this?
When you teach and discipline your child in ways that are successful, you can start enjoying being a parent and feeling pride in your children’s accomplishments. How wonderful it is when you no longer worry about their behavior away from you! Can you imagine how good it will feel when others compliment you on your children’s behavior—or when you child does a great job and gets a positive reward.
All of this can happen if you believe in your ability. Use your own strengths to create the family you want. Talk with trusted friends, professionals and other supports to build your goals.
Many professionals are out there to continue teaching on successful parenting techniques. These include your teachers, ministers, social workers and counselors. Enlisting their help can get you where you want to go.
